Here are some artists sketches of the looks they did at various A/W 2011 fashion weeks. All pretty amazing, but London wins it for me. I love strong, bold, sharp makeup and this just covers every base for me.
For Felder & Felder, Georgina Graham created the most amazing winged liner and black lips. She brought the flick really high to lift the whole face, whilst also defining the inside of the lid up to the brow bone, and just along the underneath of the brow bone and winging out, again to create lift. She added a fierce matte black lip. Love! For Jean-Pierre Braganza, Terry Barber created a very 80’s themed pink and red wonderland for the face. Pink on the lids, super contoured pinky/purple cheeks, layers of black lashes with bright red eyeliner on the lower lashline. Finished off with a gorgoeus red lip.
You can never go wrong with a smoky eye in my opinion and Milan had it going on in both the Blumarine and Moschino shows. I do also love the Manish Arora look that makeup artist Carole Lasnier created for the show in Paris. A strong brow and red lip always works well, but I love how she’s incorporated a red winged eyeliner to the look with strong contoured cheeks. It just brings so much more character to the face. Also in Paris for the Gareth Pugh show, Alex Box has once again killed it with her take on a bold eye. When I met Alex I surprisingly kept my cool, but that woman is beyond talented. Inside I was dying!
